In this update i have fixed a bug, i was working on other mods, some of them involved swat guys, which normally spawn at 4 stars. I set the wanted level required for this mod to activate to 4 instead of 3 by mistake. This caused the mod recognize the helis only after getting 4 stars, even though the first police maverick appears at 3 stars.

I hate bugs, so if you encounter any, please let me know!

Take out helis Rambo style! This mod puts pilots into up to two police mavericks and one news chopper. The police mavericks also have a passenger. If you shoot the pilot, the heli will crash land and the passenger will jump out.

This mod uses Cleomodlar's flying animation. I have his permission for this. Download it here:

Copy the flyfix.ifp file to your modloader directory, or if you're not using modloader, import it to gta3.img.

As always, check the ini file for details and settings.

Just a note guys:

The script runs even if youre on a mission, so i recommend not using it when playing a mission that involves a police maverick that uses a special script, like the one where you drive through the billboard and jump onto the highway. I could make it so that the mod doesnt run on any mission, but i dont want that, because in a mission where there is no special scripted heli, you can still get a wanted level and get chased by a regular police maverick.

If the mod attempts to catch a special police maverick, the game will probably crash. I havent tried it, so youre welcome to try and let me know. biggrin

Great work! So much better than an old mod I used to know. 2 things though:

1) There seems to be a small delay between killing the pilot and the helicopter going down. Is this intentional?

2) Any chances of opening the source? biggrin

1) The delay is partly intentional, partly unavoidable. It seems that when the "crash heli" opcode is activated, it can happen immediately but it can also take a while before you see any effect. It seems to depend on how the heli is moving at that moment. I thought that it shouldnt spin out of control immediately if the pilot died, so i added a little delay.

2) You can decompile the script in Sanny Builder. I dont have any source code thats different from what youll get if you decompile it.

Yeah, the small delay actually seems reasonable. Since you mentioned Sanny Builder, you might wanna take a look at gta3script, gta3script for VSCode and CLEO+, the revolutions in making CLEO mods biggrin. Not a mod creator myself, but they seem very good.

I did a little search and i couldnt find anything about CLEO+. What is it? What does it do?

Regarding gta3script, i dont see a reason for me to use it. If i understand it correctly, it doesnt have backwards compatibility with the original script, so it can only be used to create new mods or edit those that were made in it. I need to be able to edit any script i want. I would also need to relearn the commands. I dont see much benefit to using it. Sure, it does look simpler and more organized in some ways, but its not worth it for me.
