Not necessary to really update but updating anyhow for if in case player weapon is hidden

The one thing i wanted but didn't have that i should have had in San Andreas was a drive by mod....Tried quite a few that i saw but sadly they all either did not work or they worked a bit but crashed the game afterward so i decided to make my own... I share it with you in case you need it. Go on test it out for yourself and see how it is..k

Written for usa 1.0 version

Press left D+B to launch

(Numlock)
num 1 to do classic drive by style

num 2 to stay parked and shoot while the doors are locked, and switch seat if passenger seat at the front is empty

num 3 to do drive by and let the cpu/game control the driving..
If the red target marker on the map is not set you will be informed to set it first before proceeding, if you don't want to you can cancel. Doors are locked until you take back control of the wheel

Everything you need to know is in the menu and other text informing you if there's anything you need to know...

Also, i did not set it to give any guns; that's rather unnecessary, get your own guns dammit ;)

Set to use only Micro Uzi, MP5 or a Tec



When already in a drive by mode you can press D to get back to the wheel

If you notice a 1 or 2 second wait upon initial launch, that is only when it's loading the cars animation if not already loaded in the game...An animation in that section is used in the script.



.cs file goes in /cleo folder
.fxt goes in cleo/cleo_text folder

Some of my other mods have been updated as well but i didn't bother to create a separate post instead i just replace the existing packages, edit some of the description and add the necessary display images depicting the changes where needed

If you are not new to this mod and you have come to report an issue that the game crashed if you got arrested/wasted while in drive by mode...that is already fixed.

..(Same goes for cutscenes and if you switch to remote player mode)


Just download the mod again you'll get the updated version.

@xMetalKnightx Laugh lol, a true still.. But boss, i just did it that way in keeping in-line with the original drive by weapons I mean, it's no big deal really lol Lmao

But you're right still in that, that kinda make it a bit limited but i don't think i need to change the mod for that because that hardly make much of a difference really. I guess the main thing is the mod works and that's it. pardon Right? lol

Hey man, thanks for the good work you put in. I would like to inform you about a bug, when I try to get on BMX right after falling off, game crashes. Would you please bother fixing this issue?

@BarisAlpay Sorry, i did not remember seeing this post.. But i noticed it a few days ago after uploading an update. I have nothing to do literally so i just decided to check it out.. While testing i could not get CJ to fall off the bike but i did manage to run it in the sea and after the game took him off and it did cause a crash.. I have now set directive for what to do in the event that this happens, it should work just the same with whatever way he accidentally gets off of whatever vehicle he is using like bikes and stuff.. i'll change the update version to 2.2

Love this especially how the zacthe_nerd version cause semi random crashes, although it took me multiple presses to activate driveby

also passenger seat driveby and autodrive is not necessary.
need this to trigger with pistol and shotgun too.

and i have to edit this personally (don't worry i won't reupload without permission especially my edit is a bit messy) so activate driveby is R (one button only) and deactivate driveby is E, because so many people use D to turn right.

Yeah, for real though.. i mean no shade i respect everybody who do their work and stuff but yes i had trouble with other mods so i just made my own.. I guess that's just a good thing when you can do a bit of coding..Although before 2018 i knew nothing at all about any coding whatsoever. But i believe i have done well enough though especially due to the fact that i am limited and i hardly do much in life in general

Yeah, that key issue thing..
It's sorted it out now still.. At first i thought the compiler was just acting a bit crazy though, because i didn't really check to see the real reason why it was that way and that i didn't really see it as a necessity to check it out in that the mod was alright otherwise.. but anyway yeah that's that still

haha yeah, I guess.. but i did do it for a specific reason though for myself because i had edited the 'zeti car control script' and remove the drive by function in it because that function was acting up and shit so i just incorporated the function in my mod instead so that's why it ended up being here lol

As for the using of other weapons i don't intend to do that though, i mean i guess it is an easy thing to do especially since as how it is I who filter the other weapons from the list but i just prefer to use the standard drive by weapons that are used with such function by the game itself.. Over all to me I guess it's just a matter of preference.

Sure, do your thing brother edit it to suit your need if you want..
So as incited, i do have an update for this mod actually.. i don't remember what the key was on before but i also changed the key to D+B to launch and D to deactivate...

Literally feeling drowsy to write and upload the packages for the mods but i know that if i login and start i will just en up uploading them all anyhow

Yeah, i guess.. seem as if the d+b keys were being used from a long time ago prior to what i stated below. Forgot to say specifically also that the reason why i set the keys like that is obviously because i don't use wasd to navigate, ( so it was kinda like an idgaf situation :P ) especially not to drive because to me the arrow keys are more accurate.. but then again when it comes to the arrow keys found on some laptops that's a different story.. hopefully if anyone is looking to change the key but does not know how to edit it from the code itself they could try using the scm key changer app though..k

i like the mod, but when i use it and go into ryders car in the first ryder mission the game crashes. when i dont use the mod the game doesnt crash at that moment. could you fix that?

@Yukine Okay fair enough.. While i code none of my mods with doing storyline missions in mind as it all makes not that much sense to bother doing so the mod does not have any much tedious stuff so the main thing likely to cause that to happen is possibly a collision with something else that manipulates the camera/view as this mod seeks to prevent the game from auto swinging the camera behind the player whenever the mod is in use via memory write, but is also set back when the mod is closed. I do remember this being something that happened but that is quite some time ago. With the version i now have using along with all my other mods i tried testing this the other day to see it happen on quite a number of times and i could not get the error to happen at all. I think i might not had been using silent patch those other times before..If in case you aren't using silent patch you should try using it as it does fixes quite a number of things with the game

@Yukine After checking while packaging and uploading the mods i noticed that this is identical to the mod that i am using. As i say though i haven't seen the error occur but i may check some time again to see if it does.. but anyway, it all depends as i may not end up having a pc anymore though so that's that as i be clearing out (whatever that might mean lol) ..k

Hi. I noticed that you haven't update this mod for switch any guns rather than using default SMGs weapon to drive-by. I really love it when there's 3 options to select drive-by mode but you didn't implement for switching weapons so I give this idea if you can make this have a option to switch any guns in idk how to called it "scripts menu" or something but you'll understand what I mean. Thanks man.biggrin

@Yukine okay, so just a little follow up on this as i know sometime when i start talking to people online i become a maniac so just in case for anyone else out there who be wondering about the mod, first time the mod would seek to write and keep set the memory addresses to prevent the game from auto swinging the camera behind the vehicle for when in a drive by state, but i noticed that as long as the mod is being used in the game, active or not, the persistent write caused the game to crash when doing the first Ryder mission.. hence what was done instead was to save the original values for the memory addresses, set the custom ones when needed and restore the original values whenever the mod is finished doing it's intended use. After doing such, the mod no longer cause such a crash anymore.. So i just assume that you might not have taken the recent update or that you may have seen the update but made the comment anyhow... Nevertheless, i checked quite a few times but the error did not happen so i did not bother with possibly going on a wild goose chase dash

I am gonna try it. Tell me in advance, the aim isn't locked to Right Mouse Button? I can aim using the keyboard key I binded for aiming, right?
