It somewhat look like machete(they are both guardless) as they are both evolved from hunting knives. But the Shashka used by Caucasians(native peoples from the Caucasus mountains) & Russian Cossacks has much different blade structure(longer, less wide, & thicker) and can be used as wood cutting tools for harder wood from trees in colder climate of Caucasus & Russia when they are not used as cavalry sword.
