How to install?. I put the file in the game directory but nothing happened

Even though it's classified as a script, it's an .ASI file. So I would assume you put it in the plugins folder instead. Am I correct?

Answered my own question. Goes to the plugins folder. Works kinda great.

You start seeing the zombie infection spread. Cops are shooting at everything but you. (As long as you stay in your car and don't take a gun out.) You will eventually get a 6-star wanted level for no reason. But just ignore it. The cops are busy with the zombie hoard.

After about 10-15 minutes, zombies are all over the place. Works as intended. Just keep driving around and watch. Make sure no zombies approach your car. They will pull you out and get you. Just drive slowly avoiding them wandering around in the middle of the street.

Only one problem with the mod. It maxes out the game's available resources trying to keep track of the infection. (Even with a modified PedBudget.) And you start seeing buildings and textures disappearing. After about 20 minutes, it starts to affect your controls, and introduces massive lag. (Not your FPS, just everything else.)

I'm going to try again with a PedBudget of 500000000 (started with 144000000) and see what happens.

@AlconburyBlues I'm curious on using the script/plug in. However, did your result improve the lag issues? Also does it need to be a downgraded in order to work?

@megafrankenstienNo I didn't need to downgrade for it to work. But I've learned a lot more since 2 weeks ago, and I now have separate installs for 1.2.0.59 (Steam), 1.0.8.0 (better for script mods and doesn't need the R* launcher), and 1.0.7.0 (really only did this one for LCPDFR use).

Still playing with the various forms of memory management to see what works best. But GTA4 is still 15 year old coding. And there's still no sure-fire way to get it to use more of your RAM or VRAM, which is why you see stuff disappearing with mods like this. I'll test it again in 1.0.8.0 and share the results.

Where do I place the .ASI?

Is there any way to stop the lag?

@AlconburyBlues since I am replying long after you commented this, i doubt I will get a response, but what results did you get on 1.0.8.0?
