Description:
This mod aims to make GTA IV more natural, less dark and more vibrant. My inspiration was the never released iCEnhancer C by icelaglace. I spent about 500-1000 hours to create and update this mod. This mod was developed for GTA IV patch 1.0.4.0 and later 1.0.7.0/1.0.8.0/EFLC support were added. If you want the best visuals I strongly recommend to use patch 1.0.4.0 instead of the other patches. The 1.0.7.0/1.0.8.0/EFLC version does not look same as good as the 1.0.4.0 version because of ENB limitation on newer patches, but I did my best to make it good looking. A lot of thanks to BisonSales, Orangebrains and icelaglace who helped me with some issues I had. Also thanks to icelaglace again for his original iCEnhancer 3.0 graphic mod. Without his mod this modified iCEnhancer 3.0 version wouldn't be possible obviously. Also big thanks to donnits who helped me to make iCEnhancer 3.0 Natural compatible with Patch 7&8 and EFLC.

I'm not the creator/original author of the iCEnhancer series. This is just a custom preset for iCEnhancer 3.0 and not a new version of iCEnhancer. icelaglace is the original author of the iCEnhancer graphics mod series.

Updates:
This mod was in development for over 4 years. After several updates over these years I've decided to stop at this point. It was a lot of fun to work on this project since it only started as a side project without any specific goal.

WARNING:
-If you change the weather/time with a mod menu/trainer the game will need a few seconds in order to set new brightness settings. Same goes for other functions which skip time/weather.

-In order to have proper visuals it's recommended to not use any freeze time options from mod menus/trainers because this will conflict with ENB's adaptation function. In other words
you'll get a way too bright or way too dark image after a certain time.

-Extra Sunny 2 is not a supported weather preset. It's not being used by GTA IV's timecycle/weather system, even if you're able to enable it with a mod menu/trainer so don't use it.

About 1.0.7.0/1.0.8.0 and EFLC version:
It's not same as polished and beautiful like the 1.0.4.0 version, but it works fine and it looks good enough to me. I still strongly recommend to downgrade to the 1.0.4.0 version if you want better visuals and also better performance. Please don't complain when your game doesn't look same as good as on my shown screenshots, since I use patch 1.0.4.0 on almost all screenshots I make. I tried my best to make other weathers as close as possible to the 1.0.4.0 version, but limitations are there. See "READ!!!.txt" from the "Main Files (Patch 7&8 and EFLC)" folder, if you want to know what specific issues upper patches have, compared to the 1.0.4.0 version. There's nothing I can personally do about these issues, since ENB is really outdated. The latest ENB version was originally developed for the 1.0.4.0 version.

Enb is perfect but timecycle goes pitch black around 23:00 to 4:00 or so....love it but unplayable at midnight to morning

@scar151 Sounds like your shaders folder is broken or the ENB isn't working at all. Does it look like on my screenshots or does daytime look bright, blurry or just not like ENB at all? If it's so the ENB isn't working. Make sure to have default 1.0.4.0 Patch shaders folder without any other before installed graphic mods and make sure the ENB .dll (d3d9.dll) is working. If you see the enbseries logo at the beginning when you start the game the ENB is loaded. If I couldn't help you write me a private message on GTAinside or on Discord: DayL#3320

@falcogray the enb is fine its the timecycle for idk reason goes pitch black at midnight till 4am... the timecyle modifiers work well...its just the time cycle. I hope i could find out the problem because your timecyle looks fantastic.

That is the best and most stable graphic mod to this game. You did a awesome job!
But there some things that I want to point out:

enbmoon.tga have a dog picture on it, and this appear as a moon on the game at night.
I repleced it with the moon from GTA V https://i.imgur.com/Ckrxv4Q.png
I also replaced enbclouds.bmp with this cloud texture from GTA V https://i.imgur.com/fDrVguH.png I think that the result was better, in my opinion, the original cloud textures seems pixelated.

Also, the night lights looks too dark. In the original game the windows, the neon signs, lampposts etc have much more light and make the game night beautful while iluminate the surround areas.
You can see by yourself, just walk at night in the game, active and deactive the enb with shift + f12. The original night bright and colors looks much better, and in my opinion, they should be restored.

I have some questions:

Wich thing I have to edit in order to increase the game bright? (the game bright settings dosen't have effect over the enb)

@F.fly lol what, there is no way I didn't noticed the moon texture. Icelaglace, the developer from the iCEnhancer graphic mods is known for trolls like this.

The enbclouds.bmp from iCE 3.0 is neeeded to get the right from and normal map's for the clouds. The external cloud texture has nothing to do with the resolution by the way.

Now the nights. I'm using an unfinished mod from BisonSales which makes static lights at night more dynamic. I've tested both, with and without the mod and lights looked good for me on both but you are not the first person who told me that night lights are too dark. I'm not allowed to include the night lights improvement because it's still unfinished. I'll try to improve the lights at night with default IV lights but it's not my priority right now. Thanks for the screenshots, they will make it easier for me to work on it.

By the way, here is how it looks with BisonSales lights enhancement:

Now to your questions:
1. There is no direct overall brightness setting you could use but you can use Reshade to increase brightness.
2. Nope, you could recreate them via timecycle and enbseries.ini editing but you can't use the original ones.
3. I'm not sure, I'll look what I can do to make a better night experience.

@falcogray Amazing work! good I have few questions, if u will have time to answer ofcourse.
I just finished modding GTA SA finally, without having any crashes or bugs, even tho, the game is filled with custom vehicles and running the DirectX 2.0 ENB.
I'm looking to buy GTA IV on steam and do the same thing, but trying to have as less trouble on the way, as modding can be a real pain in the... If u do it wrong.

So, if I buy it on Steam, should I patch it to 1.0.4.0 or no?
If I patch it, should that be in a devided folder from the original one, like I did with GTA SA?
If I put this mod, how many vehicles do you think I can install into the game with the game still running smoothly?

I'm sorry for the long message, just wanted to have a nice insight into the whole thing, before I even start!

Yes I recommend to downgrade to 1.0.4.0 patch. The latest Steam version is garbage but you can run the game outside the Steam folder without Steam when you downgrade to 1.0.4.0 patch. There are a lot of methods/mods to improve the stability of IV. Most of them are script mods to fix vehicle streaming bugs. You can install a lot of vehicle mods but you also need a good CPU when you have many vehicles installed. But it's not like you need the latest Intel i7 if you know what I mean.

U think this is enough or?

And one more question, there shouldn't be a problem if I purchase the complete edition with Ballad of Gay Tony and the other one, when it comes to patching it and modding?

@Sikel98 Since I'm not a benchmark tool I can't tell but shouldn't hurt to try it. If your PC isn't 10 years old I'm sure it won't be a problem. My ENB is also performance friendly compared to other IV ENB's.

No you can simply downgrade the Complete Edition like before so modding isn't a problem at all. But you can't access EFLC anymore when downgrading but you can make another copy so you can play both.

I can't find a solution anywhere literally.

You guys are definitely doing something wrong. Just take a look in the readme. There is a troubleshooting section. I'm sure you guys are booth having a corrupted shaders folder. It's really easy to fix and it's not a mistake on my end. My mod works perfectly for everybody else.

So it turns out that I'm still a noob and was too quick to complain
Just learned that I'm running on EFLC and this is for 1.0.4 only so obviously some incompatibility came up running with EFLC
Sad I won't get to try this, but thanks nonetheless for still continuing to support

On the upside, I can report that this mod is indeed not working on EFLC for anyone else wondering

just got GTAIV complete edition from steam and want to try some mods including this one.....
can see its best to downgrade the game to 1.0.4 or 1.0.7 to get the mod to work well - have files for both so just wondering if its best to go down to 1.0.4 or 1.0.7?(can see 1.0.4 gives the best visuals but am I losing anything else by going to this version such as some of the add ons such as EFLC?)

@Legui Yes but this depends on the the patch you're using. If you use patch 4 archivements doesn't work anymore because you can't start the game with Steam/RGL anymore. Every other patch above patch 4 (patch 7/8/latest version, etc.) should work.

Just download gta 4 1.0.0.0 (clean .iso version from torrent) install patch 1.0.4.0 and just drag files from winrar. easy as can be! Story mode working well with this graphic mod and must download gta 4 carpack 2020 by Inter, hd trees for gta 4 and 4K2K Allaga Graphics Mod for gta iv

@GTArman because this ENB isn't supposed to work disabled like most ENB's. If you want something different without ENB to get more FPS you can get my timecycle mod. It also have's an ENB optional for better vehicle reflections.

Is there any fix for nights being too dark and almost nothing is visible? I tried reinstalling the enb, using the shaders in the optinal folder, injecting the d3d9.dll nothing worked.

@falcogray thanks for the response let me elaborate, your mod is absolutely beautiful at Days but when it's night the only thing you could see on the buildings is the their lights and its like the building itself it's not there and the lights are just hanging in there this also applies to the streets, it's the city lamps don't have any affect on the roads brightness and don't illuminate anything, my monitor is 32 inch 1080p 144hz and I don't have this problem on other games.

@Maxisixo Thanks. Honestly I'm still not sure what's causing the issue. Most people who have really dark nights just have bad monitor settings or issues with HDR/special monitor features that some monitors have. If you install everything correctly nights should look exactly like on my screenshots/videos. Make sure to use a completely clean IV installation copy before you start downgrading and modding the game. Install every mod step by step with ingame tests between to make sure all mods are compatible with each other. DON'T install any other ENB/Timecycle/Reshade/SweetFX/overall graphic mods over iCEnhancer 3.0 Natural.

@falcogray thanks for the explanation, now I have another question if you could help me out please, I wanna install the mod on eflc version 1.1.2.0 but my installation folder is separate from gta iv like the base game is on gta iv folder and eflc has its own folder and the games are separate too like if I wanna play gta iv I should open its application and if I wanna play eflc I should launch a separate application, this file here you put for download has both games and dlc on a same folder can you explain how can I install the icenhancer separately for eflc too? Should I just copy and paste everything on the eflc folder or it has a different procedure? Thanks

@Maxisixo You just have to install all files contained in the "Main Files (Patch 7&8 and EFLC)" folder. Doesn't matter if you use EFLC standalone (patch 1.1.2.0) or the DLC method using patch 7/8 or the latest Steam/RGL version. I tried on EFLC and it's work though , and So far I really love it thanks man keep it up, but it's little bit laggy cuz gta iv has a bad optim, and also my pc is mid end I guess,

@hyperix that’s not possible, because without ENB, all the external shaders won’t load, which gives you bad looking visuals.

However there’s an option for you. I also made a timecycle visual mod, which is only using game files, so ENB is not required.

I'm a small YouTuber from Brazil and I made a video of a "remaster" of GTA 4 with mods. I promised my subscribers that I would make an installer with the mods I used. I met a problem. After Into, The social club will fail to initiate error code 17 every time since the D3D9.DLL is inside the root folder. after deleting it, everything works well. does any one can help me?wink

@Bl2d3 how does it work with incompatible shaders? Would be curious to see an ingame screenshot of your modded copy. I'm 100% sure it looks broken and not nearly as intended. There are reasons why this mod is only compatible with patch 4, 7 and 8.

It's a shame that you can't see the moon and stars at night with patches 7 and 8, I don't know if you can in 4 but I'm not interested since I also want to play TBOGT and TLAD, it ruins the aesthetics of the night completely and ruins the experience of what could have been the best graphics mod of GTA IV and it's a real shame. If I could fix it I would but I failed, I hope one day DayL returns to this mod and does it.
