Lokus Fix

...if you don't know GTA lore, then you might think this is a "fix". It's more of an anti-fix really.....

"Emporer" was an intentional joke by R*. The Lokus is the GTA version of the real-life cheapest Lexus. And most experienced car people know that Lexus products are the "poor man's luxury cars", because they are well known for their really poor performance and low price, even if they "look" luxurious.

Also, to emulate the real-life Lexus performance, the Lokus was made equally bad in acceleration, top speed, and overall sluggishness.

Hence the term, Em-poor-er. The badging was NOT a mistake. (This is well-documented.)

Also, the Lokus and the Emperor are 2 completely different cars. With the actual Emperor being a copy of the old Cadillac. So it completely baffles me as to why this small creation was made.

All right, nice upload should anyone need a proper Emperor Lokus badge free of any other kind of alterations so they can have a standard fix or a base for their own mod.

@TheSultanAkbar "A whole lotta nothing" if you're not interested in true GTA lore. I was just letting everyone know that the name Emporer was intentional, and giving some background on it. If you're not interested, then you don't have to read it.

The car's name is not Emperor. But I can see where you think the info is useless, as other websites think it's a misspelling as well. If you go on R*'s actual database, then you'll have the correct answer.

But it just... makes absolutely no sense.

"Emperor" is a vehicle manufacturing company in the HD GTA universe. It manufactures the Lokus, the Habanero and others.

The Habanero has the CORRECT spelling in it's badge texture file, EMPEROR HABANERO. Emperor, as in, the ruler of an empire, like Japan. Makes sense, as Emperor hails from Japan.

The police scanner also pronounces it as such. Eg. "suspect is driving a blue Emperor Lokus".

"Emperor" was also the name of an executive sedan in GTA SA which had Japanese design influences from Japanese manufacturers such as Infiniti and Lexus. For whatever reason, it was turned into a US based vehicle.

This appears to be another of the many vehicle oversights that are a common sight in the GTA series. Someone who made the Lokus' badge texture simply mislabeled it. "Emporer" being a joke sounds, like nothing more than a theory. Why doesn't the Habanero have it then?

And it's a pretty poor joke anyway. The Lokus only appears dowdy and cheap because they designed it as such, lol.

I apologize to anyone following our lengthy conversation. (Should be in a PM.) I will agree that it is quite confusing. It's not hard for anyone to figure that Lokus was supposed to be the fun name for Lexus. But Lexus is a manufacturer, not a model. Also, R* does say the Emperor car line is based on Lexus. (Stay with me, I'm getting there, you'll understand...)

R* dev forums also say the the Lokus was the first sedan model created for the HD universe. (GTA:SA is in the 3D universe, not the HD universe, so vehicles from SA don't count.) And, supposedly it didn't have a manufacturer name tied to it. It was simply called the Lokus.

Now putting all these facts together, and some background knowledge about how the gaming industry works, leads me to believe they originally started to create a lineup of mock-Lexus cars, with the Lokus as the starter.

Even though it's a mockup, and has a close enough likeness to the real Lexus. I'm guessing that Lexus still had a problem with it, even though they can't take R* to court on a mockup. But they can still persuade R*'s concepts with real money. And thus, the manufacturer Lokus instead became the model Lokus, and Emperor became the manufacturer.

...and they purposely spelled it Emporer to basically say that Lexus is a bunch of whiny losers.

Not sure if you agree with my assessment. But that is based on my 35 years in the gaming industry, and seeing the shady deals between publishers and copyright holders, to influence design. If you PM me, I can tell you how NASCAR Racing 2k3 became iRacing, in very much the same way. It changed my career path.

@AlconburyBluesi get what you are saying, but the guy giving a nice responce and you just saying "you are gonna ignore the lore" pisses me off. YOU gotta understand, how much you say it was suposed to be emporer, how much everyone is wrong and s*** like dat wont change the fact that EMPEROR is a brand in gta 5 based in lexus. why am i saying this? look at the emperor vectre. if yoou think that is not a lexus then you have a problem. ALSO, if you see the habanero in GTA 4, you will see the badge is named EMPEROR and not EMPORER
