Description

Diplomat Heavy Tank (M1A2 Abrams) converted directly from Mercenaries 2: World in Flames. The model seen from afar consists of the chassis, turret, gun and wheels due to the structural complexity and quantity of materials. This, too, helps make the DFF file less heavy.

Originally, in Mercenaries 2: World in Flames, the tank has an 105 mm L/44 M256A1 smoothbore gun, a 7.62mm Coaxial LMG, and a gunner's Minigun. Of course, in GTA San Andreas only the M256A1 gun is usable.

The tracks don't work as I don't know how to make CLEO mods.

Updates

Version 1.1 (September 9th, 2021): The model now has Realistic Collision. Even the mounted weapon and hatch can now be touched.

Version 1.2 (February 10th, 2023): The tank has been fully extracted from the game again in order to be assembled correctly according to the original layout of parts in Mercenaries 2: World in Flames. I made a point of extracting and assembling as accurately as possible. The tank scale value has been changed to the original value of the source game. In addition, the mod now includes open hatch and closed hatch versions, as for some driving a tank with an open hatch can look visually uncomfortable. However, the originality of the tank model was not affected, with only one piece (hatch) rotated as seen in the original game. Finally, the collision was completely done again.

Version 1.3 (February 20th, 2024): The collision has been adjusted. Additionally, the normals have been corrected. In the previous version, the normals were inverted. Now, they are correct and the vehicle is illuminated correctly by the lights of other cars and the environment. Finally, the open hatch version was deleted as it did not differ considerably from the closed hatch version. It doesn't make much sense to keep the hatch open if there is no interaction to close it.
