@JoshB48 Hmm it really shouldn't ? I made it with the steam version of the game I am pretty sure so if you are using some kind of retail copy it might not work. There are dozens of save game converters in the internet able to convert saves from retail to steam and vice versa. Try that, maybe it will fix the issue.
